Queensland The Smart State Yeah Right

Filed under: Road Users and Locations,The Community — mypointofview @ 1:22 pm

How can Queensland have The Smart State on number plates when many drivers especially in The West End, Highgate Hill and South Brisbane.

Dont use common sense to realise running the red, parking in the road lane, blocking the footpath forcing pedestrians to walk on the roads, not giving way to other road users etc
etc etc.

Is not only a stupid thing to do but dangerous.

Mouthing Off again L Springborg?

Filed under: Government and Politics — mypointofview @ 4:18 pm

Instead of mouting off and whinging all the time maybe L Springbord should put words into action and follow the saying ‘action louder speak then words’ and maybe just maybe he won’t mistakes with his publicity stunt to get hi face on TV or in the papers.

Brisbane Council fix-o-gram when they are good and ready

Filed under: Local Councils,The Community — mypointofview @ 4:11 pm

Since I always get a slow, poor and no response from council especially on matters that put pedestrians lives in danger or reduce pedestrians access for example I was told many years ago that plaques would be laid to work out where cafe tables and chairs can be place in Boundary St and yet years later nothing has been done and pedestrians still have reduced access.

Maybe Council new service fix-o-gram should be called ‘fix-o-gram when we are good and ready and even then if we are willing to do anything’.

Takeaway the footpath space with industral Bins

After seeing a number of Industral Bins from a company called Takeaway blocking the footpath in The West End area maybe they should be called takeaway the footpath space.

Parking on the footpath ok to put lives in danger

Filed under: Road Users and Locations,The Community — mypointofview @ 3:59 pm

It is a pity and stupid that some drivers will not accept reality that parking on the footpath  drivers especially in the West End/South Brisbane and Highgate Hill area.

Is against the law, put pedestrian lives in danger and damage the footpath and if drivers don’t believe this especially that it put lives in danger they should try walking on Vulture St with speeding drivers because someone thought (?) it would be okay to park on the footpath.

Road rules allowing cyclists to break the law

Filed under: Government and Politics,Road Users and Locations,The Community — mypointofview @ 3:50 pm

In seeing so many cyclists break the law and put themselves and others at risk especially at the intersection of Vulture and Boundary St West End by running the red, not giving way to pedestrians, ride straight off the footpath etc etc

I guess you could say the Local Council road rules allowing cyclists to ride on the footpath was not written to improve the safety of cyclists but to allow cyclists to break the law.

Community groups happy with council?

In getting no response, a slow response and a poor response from community groups especially in The West End area of Brisbane I guess these groups are very happy with Local Councils especilly and what Council is doing for the community.

The Boggo Road bus tunnel at Dutton Park

Filed under: Public Transport,The Community — mypointofview @ 3:44 pm

If the community group who wants The propsed Boggo Rd bus tunnel moved is really concerned about the tunnel and health to their children.

Then why didn’t they question The propsed North South Road Tunnel and why did they suggest moving the bus tunnel because wouldn’t common sense suggested that moving the tunnel other children could be affected.
